2014 Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer State Cup National Championship Series (NCS):

The Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup is the first leg of competition in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series (NCS). The Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup competition is an open competition that draws teams that participate at the highest levels of competition throughout the state. The State Cup champion advances to US Youth Soccer Region I Championships. Regional champions advance to compete in US Youth Soccer National Championships in late July.

Event Registration - Additional Information

The Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) competition will be conducted in two specific time periods that aligns the play with the age groups and selected external soccer conflicts. The competition is divided as follows:
  • March to May during this period we will conduct the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) for the U12 to U17 boys and girls age groups.
  • May to June during this period we will conduct the June Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) for the U-18 to U-19 boys and girls age groups.

Any team participating in the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) competition will be ineligible to participate in the Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup or Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup of the same season.

Competition format will be single elimination for all ages for Boys and Girls.

Competition will start after the roster freeze date specified by Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer on www.epysa.org for both Age Groups.

  • U12 to U17 Boys and Girls
  • U18 to U19 Boys and Girls

All roster freeze dates are 5:00 PM of the particular day specified by Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer. Team rosters will remain frozen (no adding, dropping or transferring players) until elimination from the competition or being crowned champion.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer State Cup (NCS) U12 age group has adopted an 8v8 format ONLY (maximum roster of 14 players for the entire current season including guest players and/or secondary players). In order to participate in an 8v8 playing format, a team cannot have gone over 14 players on their roster at any point during the current seasonal year.

The Finals will be scheduled by Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer at their sole discretion. Teams, regardless of age, may be scheduled to play their Final on a Saturday or Sunday of Championship Weekend. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer cannot accept any scheduling requests. Coaches with multiple teams in The Finals should make arrangements to have AT LEAST ONE ADDITIONAL ADULT with a valid coaching pass present for The Final. Any teams losing their coach during the course of The Final (send off, obligation) cannot proceed unless a valid team official with a current coach/administrator pass is present and assumes the duties of said coach.

The Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) winners will advance to the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships to be held June 26 to July 1, 2014 in Kingston, RI. The winners of the Region I Championships will then go on to represent Region I at the US Youth Soccer National Championships from July 21-27, 2014 in Germantown, Maryland.

Entry into the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) competition acknowledges the above and also represents an agreement to participate in the Region I and US Youth Soccer National competitions. Should the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) champion renege on this obligation, the championship may be forfeit and the team subject to a $500 fine. If the fine is not paid, the sponsoring organization, including all of its teams, players, etc., will be considered in "bad standing" until the fine is paid.

Should Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer receive a wild card slot for the Region I competition, the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) runner-up will represent Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer and is subject to the fine and rules and regulations as described above.

The NCS application fee is $250.00. This application fee represents the entrance fee ONLY and does not include referee fees. Referee fees are split between the two competitors according to the current seasonal year referee fee schedule. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer pays ALL referee fees for The Finals.

The NCS Finals will be played the weekend of May 18 and May 19, 2014.


2014 Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Presidents Cup:

The Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup is a statewide championship that is part of the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup National Event. The Presidents Cup is an open competition that is focused on teams that wish to play in a statewide competition that also offers opportunity at the regional and national level. The Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup champion advances to Region I Presidents Cup. Regional winners advance to the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.

Event Registration - Additional Information

The Presidents Cup for U-12 (8v8 only) and U-13 to U-17 (11v11) Boys and Girls will be conducted during the March to May time period.

Any team participating in the Presidents Cup will be ineligible to participate in the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) or Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup in the same season.

The Presidents Cup adopts 'World Cup' format for all ages. Group Games and playoffs will be played at home/away fields determined randomly by The Cup Draw (teams are randomly selected) into a predetermined schedule. Only The Final will be played at a neutral site. An age group requires four (4) teams for competition to be offered. If less than four (4) teams enter, combined age groups may be created at the discretion of the Cup Commissioner. The winners of the World Cup format brackets will advance to the appropriate single-elimination bracket (i.e. divisional playoffs, quarter-finals, semi-finals, etc.). The Finals will be scheduled by Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer at their sole discretion. Teams, regardless of age, may be scheduled to play their Final on a Saturday or Sunday of Championship Weekend. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer cannot accept any scheduling requests. Coaches with multiple teams in The Finals should make arrangements to have AT LEAST ONE ADDITIONAL ADULT with a valid coaching pass present for The Final. Regional winners in the Under-13 through Under-17 groups, both Boys and Girls, will vie for the National title. The Presidents Cup National Championships will be held, July 10-13, 2014 and will be played in Greenville, South Carolina.

Entry into the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Presidents Cup competition acknowledges the above and also represents an agreement to participate in the Region I and US Youth Soccer National competitions. Should Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer receive a wild card slot for the Region I competition, the Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup runner-up will represent Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer.

2014 Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Turkey Hill Challenge Cup:

The Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup is an open competition that draws teams that wish to participate in an Eastern Pennsylvania-wide competition which crowns a statewide champion.

Event Registration - Additional Information

The Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup for U9 to U19 boys and girls will be conducted during the March to May time period.

Any team participating in the Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup will be ineligible to participate in the Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup (NCS) or Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup in that same season.

Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer will be offering two divisions of play for the Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup in the U9 to U11 (8v8) age groups ("A"=Most Competitive and "B"=Competitive). This allows for balanced competition with opportunity for more teams to participate.

In the Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup Under 12 age group, an 8v8 format (maximum roster of 14 players for the entire current season including guest players and/or secondary players) will ONLY be offered. In order to participate in an 8v8 playing format, a team cannot have gone over 14 players on their roster at any point during the current seasonal year. Under 9 through Under 12 will ONLY play 8v8. Under 13 through Under 19 will play 11v11. Any U12 teams playing in any divisions of approved leagues are not U13 Cup-eligible. To be eligible and to play in the U13 Cup there must be nine (9) age-pure U13 players on the original league-approved roster. Likewise, any U8 teams playing in any divisions of approved leagues are not U9 Cup-eligible. To be Cup-eligible for the U9 Cup, there must be nine (9) age-pure U9 players on the original league-approved roster.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Challenge Cup competition ends at the state level. There are no Regional or National stages for the Turkey Hill Challenge Cup.

The Turkey Hill Challenge Cup application fee is $200.00. This fee represents the entrance fee ONLY and does not include referee fees. Referee fees are split between the two competitors according to the current seasonal year referee fee schedule. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer pays ALL referee fees for The Finals.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Turkey Hill Challenge Cup Finals will be played the weekend of May 18 and May 19, 2014.
